From the 26th until the 30th of January 2006 the festival "Cirque de Demain - Circus of Tomorrow" took place at its 27th edition in the historical Circus building "Cirque d´Hiver - Bouglione" in Paris. The international selection-committee chose from over 500 applicants 20 participants who would perform their show in the competition in front of the judges. This year the festival was dedicated to Germany and its tradition of Varietés where Miriam Willems got the special honour to represent Germany. Further more artists from Russia, China, Canada, France, Ukrainia, Switzerland, USA, The Netherlands and Bulgaria took part. As the audience existed mainly of circus and varieté experts which meant that the artists would perform their shows among the competition to an dignified context. Among the guests were also reknown representatives of the famous "Cirque du Soleil".
The gala was recorded by the German-French TV-Station Arte and will be shown on December 24th 2006 at WDR.
